Got the appraisal, closing tomorrow or Friday

So we got the last of the all clears we needed from our mortgage company and now they are just rushing to have all the paperwork finished in time for the closing tomorrow. Because we are doing a short sale, it can take the short sale bank 24 hours to approve the closing. Grrr.

Hopefully we have their signature by this weekend so we can get started on the house. If not, we will have to wait until Monday to take possession (which basically means not till Thursday which is our first day off next week and is also Thanksgiving Day).

But at least its on track to close.

We have decided that before moving in, we want to paint the living room, hire a plumber for the plumbing issues, install a new gas stove and our new frig, correct the switch hot and neutral wires on 50% of our outlets and clean the place up a bit.

Don't even ask how much we plan on spending at Lowe's, we have a variety of tools that we don't currently own that we will need almost immediately. At least the holidays are coming up so we have a lot of mandatory time off in which to work on the house.

    When ever we have moved and changed our address with the postal service in the mover packets they have at the post office they regularly have a coupon for 10% or so off your order at lowes or home depot (I think it is which ever one is in your area).

    It is worth checking out if you have not already done it.

    It is 10% off... we print them here at my work. I am contracted to the Postal Service. It is Lowe's right now, but Home Depot here does honor them. Go to your local Post Office, or any near and ask for a Mover's Guide/Packet. It will have some coupons in there as well.

    What was really nice nice is Lowe's sent some coupons in the mail. A $50 off on orders over $500, and a $5 off on orders over $100 I believe so we will take advantage of that. Plus see what deals they are offering on in store credit cards. I know around the Holidays when I worked at Menard's(Like a Lowe's in the Midwest) you couls often get 10-25% off on items that you bought on the card, or get no interest for 12 months.
